Platecoverz is established when I encountered the hassle of removing or blurring my own images from the numberplate on my motorcycle which I wanted to place on social media.
I don't like licenseplates in pictures so I went searching for methods to easily block my licenseplates.
There were several available, but not really easy to take with me when riding my motorcyle.
My motorcycle doesn't have much space to take an additional licenseplate with me on my trips and when I've found the perfect spot, I really didn't want to take pictures of the rear because of the licenseplate.
It was just too much hassle to use programs to blur or remove the licenseplate.
So I came up with something flexible (textile), but lot's of fabrics are not dense enough to block reflection of the licenseplate. I've tested several fabrics and the end product came out really nice! Best of all, on this fabric text, a logo, an image or socialmedia handle could be printed same as printed hoodies or t-shirts. The covers can be washed in the washingmachine at 30 degrees Celcius whenever they are dirty. The covers are made out of 100% bio cotton and 5% elastine, so much more environmentally safe than plastic or aluminium licenseplates.
The covers really authenticate the picture I wanted to upload to socialmedia, and in a few seconds, after adjusting the contrast and colors, the licenseplate is transformed into something personal.
Post-processed images show artifacts of adjustments, which I think is not really nice. Best of all, others can't use your image anymore because you have an embedded personalized watermark.
